RECYCLED MATERIALNICKEL
Monel K-500 (Alloy K-500)
Monel K-500 (Alloy K-500, UNS N05500) is a precipitation-hardenable nickel-copper alloy that combines the corrosion resistance of Monel 400 with substantially higher strength and hardness. Additions of aluminum (2.30-3.15%) and titanium (0.35-0.85%) form fine strengthening precipitates during age hardening, and cold working before aging raises strength further. The alloy retains good toughness at sub-zero temperatures, has low magnetic permeability, and resists seawater and many chemical and oil-field environments. Typical applications include pump and propeller shafts, oil-well tools, valve trim, fasteners, springs and doctor blades for paper production. DASM supplies Monel K-500 as vacuum-melt quality (VQ) feedstock: every piece is sorted and analyzed to ASTM chemistry, cut to size and shot-blasted on all surfaces for direct furnace charging.
